My Self Confidence Tip:
Creating a Lesson Discussion in my Mind

by Gretchen
(Philadelphia)

Like most people, I have experienced my share of ups and downs.

There has been a handful of times when circumstances had me questioning my self-worth - most of these times were periods of transition or extremely challenging professional and personal crises.

What kept me going was faith that I would learn something from the experience that would benefit me (or better yet, someone I cared about) in the future.

I try to keep in mind who my "audience" is - those people whom I want to impress or whose opinions I respect and cherish.

With these important people in mind, I construct a "lesson" from the experience - identify what I am feeling and also what I am thinking - whether rational or not.

I imagine what advice my audience would offer to me, as well as what advice I might offer to someone going through my trying times.
