(San Fran)

The economic times are difficult for everyone. Many of us have had to endure either losing our jobs, or reductions of salary or hours.

As tough as it may seem at this point we must keep positive and keep our heads up. Setbacks happen to everyone and at any time. It is how we respond to these setbacks that defines us as people.

If you are ever to get back on the horse and restart your career and life you must be positive.

Carrying negativity into our future job plans only increases our difficulty and helps nobody. Negativity tends to become a self-fulfilling prophecy. If you are negative then negative things happen.

Keep your head up. Keep banging away at it and good things will follow.

I’ve had many rough times in my life and when I do I find it best to concentrate on the good things that I have going for me at the moment. I also remind myself how much more I’ll appreciate the better times once they return. My husband and I have been having money problems due to the economy, for example, so I remind myself that we may be broke, but we’ve got each other. We don’t have go it alone like so many others do. We’re also very healthy and we have a roof over our heads and can still put food on the table. This, along with simple pleasures like hot bubble baths and relaxing music, can really make the hard times a little easier to bear. Also, keep in mind that while there’s others out there who are better off than you may be, there are also others who have it a lot worse.
