Abe Lincoln Said It Best

by Heidi Richards Mooney
(Miami/Fort Lauderdale)

#1 I live by the philosophy of Abe Lincoln ~ "Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be."

My childhood was not exactly perfect and I often said to myself, when I grow up and am in control of my own life, I will be happy. I made up my mind, and it has been a self-fulfilling prophesy.

#2 Help other people find happiness. I have also found that if people around me are happy, I am happiest. I do that by finding ways of making wonderful memories they can take with them, to feel better about themselves. When we feel good about ourselves, our confidence is high and we are happier.

Thanks so much for the great discussion!

Here's to the pursuit of and attainment of "happy-ness"

Re-Remembering, Moment By Moment
by: Anonymous

I give this 5 stars too!

It is ALL a state of mind. Thanks for adding to our efforts to re-remember how empowered we are and can be.

Know it, but like many, often have to be reminded and/or remind myself.

We are all in this together, aren't we?

Changed my life
by: Havana

I used to think that things just happen to me, that peole who were successful and happy were that way bc of their circumstances. It was when I realized my emotions come from how I choose to react and what I choose to do that I broke my patterns of depression. You always have a choice, even if it's internal!

Honored to be among greatness
by: Heidi Richards Mooney

Dear Suzie,

Thanks so much for the opportunity to share my thoughts with your readers. It is truly an honor.

I love the topic of happiness because it seems to elude so many people these days.

And I don't believe anyone can find happiness from a pill or a drink. Happiness is a state of mind and heart.

Wishing you a wonderful 2010 filled with an abundance of love, prosperity and happiness,
