Listening IS Key: RPSA Works

by Jim Chase
(Pittsburgh, PA)

I find that most leaders don't listen very well. They (including myself) are very busy talking and telling.

Thanks for the reminder about RPSA. I used it all the time when we went through our training classes, but I know I've dropped off.

RPSA works. When I used it in the past people were surprised when I didn't jump in, but stopped long enough to ask questions and clarity. It felt funny at first, but got more and more natural over time. People start solving their own problems and they feel like I've really helped them.

I've got to get back to using it. Thanks again for the reminder!

Dissertation Help at Dissertation_House :Now and then when I am engrossed, my wife had said something to me and I neglected to recognize what she said. A disgrace on me! At one event she said, "What have I said to you?" In a millisecond I answered, "Don't let me know you have overlooked as of now?" That didn't go down too well.

It is especially essential for understudies to listen for 'catchphrases' on account of the data given will probably be a piece of test-inquiries at a later time. My inclination is that whatever the circumstance it is deferential to focus when somebody identifies with us. In the administrations, one's life may rely on upon it and that is the reason control is so vital.

Hey Jim!
by: Suzie

Thanks for your comments. RPSA does work, doesn't it? I'll post an audio example on the website this week - to help remember how it works.

It helps me to just get in the habit of repeating what I'm hearing others say and mean - Reflecting... That always gets things started and then Probing is natural.

RPSA is a counselors tool and it works for leaders who want to inspire others too.

Take Care Jim!
