Finding the perfect person for the job starts with the job -- not with the candidate.

All too often, hiring managers get a picture of the ideal person in their minds -- and they measure candidates against that picture.  They fail to consider the other people within the company who have a vested interest in the success of the position.

It's common to have a higher-level executive interview one of the final candidates, but how often do managers invite the key people who will report up to the position to be involved in the selection process?

A Job Benchmark starts with a cross-section of people who have a vested interest in the success of the position.

These folks participate in a facilitated session to identify the Key Accountabilities for the position. Once they are agreed upon, each participant completes an online job assessment. The responses are compiled into a Master Benchmark.

The Master Benchmark defines superior performance. It provides a yard stick against which every candidate can be measured.

The Job Benchmark Process typically requires a 3-hour commitment from participants.
